Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By accessing or using Split Receipt at https://split-receipt.app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Split Receipt is operated by SuccessForge HQ ("we", "us").

2. The service

Split Receipt is a tool that helps groups of friends, family, or roommates split bills. It extracts items from receipts you upload, lets you assign items to people, and produces a per-person breakdown with optional payment links.

Most features can be used without an account. Creating an account (currently via Google sign-in) unlocks saving your split history and managing groups across sessions.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or to facilitate fraud.
• Attempt to overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service.
• Upload content that infringes others' rights, contains malware, or includes images of people without their consent.
• Scrape or bulk-extract data from other users.
• Misrepresent your identity or use someone else's account without permission.

4. OCR and accuracy

Item and price extraction from receipt images is automated and may contain errors — handwriting, faded ink, unusual layouts, and currency symbols can all cause mistakes. Always review the extracted items and totals before requesting payment from anyone. Split Receipt is not responsible for inaccuracies in extracted data or in any subsequent payment requests.

5. Payments

Split Receipt does not process payments. When you generate a "pay link" for Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, UPI, PIX, Revolut, or any other supported network, we simply construct a deep link using the handle you configured. Payment itself happens entirely on the third-party platform under their terms. We are not responsible for payment disputes, failures, fees, or chargebacks.

6. Your content

You retain all rights to receipts, item names, and other data you submit. You grant us a limited license to store and process this content solely to provide the service to you and to display it within your own splits. We do not use your content to train AI models or to advertise to you.

7. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time through the contact form on our home page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including any account used to abuse the service or other users.

8. Service availability

Split Receipt is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular feature will remain available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SuccessForge HQ and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to errors in calculations, lost data, or disputes between users about who owes what. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, for the free tier, is zero.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
